Why did you file EAD? Waste of money. You will be getting your GC anytime. EB2 ROW is curent.
Yes it is current. But I don't know when they'll be approving it. Besides now we pay $1010 for I-485/131/765. There's no breakdown.

I am from retrogressed country, I am here for last 12 years & did not got depressed as I do not have GC. In my early years in USA, I used to get depress as I was not having GC but then I started thinking...Is GC is the ONLY important thing in my life?
I started concentrating on my work, constrained my self on checking now& then PDs, LUD's. If feellt depresssed - listening Indian classical music and involving in local commuitiy activities/helping kids in their studies..

How about forcing FBI remove reference files from the name check? Basically put the name check process back to how it was pre-Nov. Dec. 2002 ? Here's the story of name check
In Oct-2002 a person was cleared by FBI as having no records but INS somehow found that he was involved in foreign counter intelligence investigation. So it asked FBI how such a person could be cleared with no records. At that time FBI checked only the main files (even today FOIPA requests checks only the main files) and it didn't find that guy in the main file. It then queried the reference files and found him there. So instead of investigating why the agent did not add this record to the main file what it did was add the reference file to search. The reference file will have all sorts of records, good or bad including stuff like traffic tickets, witness to a crime, FBI Tipping etc. So now if a person has a hit FBI has to determine whether that hit was due to a good deed or bad deed from the person. What kind of stupid decision is this ? If a fellow was missed in the main file then action should be taken to fix the main file not add all and every other file to the search and start manually separating wheat from chaff.
If the name check process is reverted to pre nov. 2002 mode things will definitely move fast.

I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.

Wait till next week-end. My 140 mailed to NSC on 11th April (why?? not sure) and received RN from texas. ND was dated 19th April. RD was 13th April.
Now # of applications are more so it can take more time but your RD will be maintained.

My intention was more to think in right way and discourage potential -ve result bound strategies.
During presidential campaign there were all over promises on clearing backlogs, we can go on that basis and make a point of that.
One thing is clear if they like to stop outsourcing sure they have to encourage and stream line legal immigration they cannot stop or survive but cutting outsourcing as well leaving this legal immigration in limbo.
Besides what we can do at this juncture, keep our voices heard by contacting, writing letters.

There is no point in fighting over the inconsistency of CIS in picking applications. All of us know that a lot of people got approved last year during visa gate and many were left over even though their PD's are current. No one knows how USCIS picks an application for adjudication. It is clearly neither completely RD based nor PD based. It's up to the whims and fancies of CIS.
If IV were to make agenda's on the inconsistencies of USCIS, the list will be endless.
I have 04 PD and am waiting. I have friends with 06 PD's who got approved. I know its frustrating to watch your friends get approved and to have your own case pending for no reason. But this is NOT some thing we should be surprised about. CIS is trying to maximize visa number usage and trying to approve as many applications as they can. All of July 07 filers have passed the 180 days since the FBI name check has been initiated and ideally CIS should be approving applications with old PD's. We all know that we don't live in an ideal world. Imagine all these visa numbers going wasted. I personally (NOT IV) will try to get an answer to this FIFO issue, but the situation itself is short lived and probably will not exist by Oct 1st 08.

EB3 Folks!
This is pathetic ... And it's time for most of you to seriously think about converting to EB2. Now I have no idea how difficult or immpossible this would be, as I had always been EB2, but their are several threads on this forum that can assist you. I strongly suggest you to seriously start researching your way out of this mess. I wan't expecting EB2 to stay beyond 05, but it is going to be like that for another month. Are all the 2004 EB2-I applicants exhausted? ... I don't know, but I know EB3 just keeps on retrogressing.
If this abyss continues, think about it ... you will always remain struck where you had been for past so many years. This is no life.
