My 485 application was sent to TSC on July 24th (received on July 25th). No receipt yet and don't know whether the checks have been cashed or not -- my attorney is enjoying her vacation!
I-140 has been approved at TSC on Aug 15th 2007 (applied mid Feb).

Group of EB3 & EB2 folks should take an appointment with DOS Chief first and then with USCIS's Chief. How can we do this ?We will discuss our concerns or interpretations and changes to work towards to clear backlogs or increase Quotas or Visa Recapture..etc. I am in for any group's concerns though I am in EB3.Category does not matter. India is the hardest hit in EB based Immgiration. Let me know How we can get to the attention of the TOP/Key Persons.

Guys, get a grip on yourself. Volunteer your time for IV. It is both fulfilling and it is for a cause.
Of course being in a state of limbo is not the best thing you planned for, in life. If your spouse is not allowed to work and/or has difficulties coping with stress, just channelize all energy towards IV goals.
Cheer up.
I talked to many important people in IL including state government, university professors who are related to immigration and/or have interest in imm. They are all aware of our problems (hard country limits, spouse/dependents counted in visa numbers etc). It is only the offices of congress reps that show a blank face as far as skilled immigration is concerned.
So I urge you to join your local state chapters and start meeting your reps and/or office staff asap.
Now for those, who are here for a free ride with no progressive work and have not contributed, shame on you and I mean it. :)

Hello friends,
I was wondering about the FP notice time frame. I had applied for 485/EAD/AP on July 2nd at NSC which later got transferred to TSC. Receipts indicate that notice date is 8/27.
I was wondering how many days does it take to get FP notice from the 485 notice date? data indicates that some of the TSC guys who have notice dates of 8/29 have already got their FP notices scheduled for mid september.

Is suing the only option? USCIS could be making unintended mistake. We want to get clarification in a smoother and faster process before the flood gates open in October.
There should be some other legal-process to get written clarifications/interpretation etc on the law (like some kind of AILA discussion with CIS).

The filing date on SR is manually entered by the person opening the SR. It has got nothing to do with your real filing date. All that matters on the SR is your A#.
I saw in reply letter, it's written A# not available. Looks like that lady did not send A# in SR. Anyway, I've contacted senator for help :cool:

That may be a RFE and then eventually you have to give that letter and do more bargaining with your employer...
You wont neccesarily get RFE for omitting the employer's letter. Your 485 CAN GET DENIED.
YOU NEED EMPLOYER'S LETTER THAT STATES THE INTENTION OF HIRING WHEN GC IS APPROVED. Otherwise, as per USCIS memo recently issued, the officer can simply deny the 485 without bothering the send you an RFE to explain the missing document.
The recent memo says that if the "INTIAL EVIDENCE" is missing, then the petition can be denied outrightly without having to send the RFE.
Read this memo page 2 item # 3 :

Story of my life. I complain about delay with my application. Someone joins me and tells me they are in the same boat and the very next day that someone leaves the boat and jumps into "greener" pastures. Everyone is leaving the boat and I seem to be left out :(

My wife and I just received the email about card production order. And, ou4 case status has changed on the website to CPO. I wish good luck to all of you. In case it helps, anyone, our details:

Steps taken:
SR opened for my petition around July 17th: Response stated that my petition was in the adjudications department, and was for an officer to be assigned.
Status enquiry through the local congresswoman Aug 12th: Same result as my SR.
SR opened for my wife Aug., 10th: No response yet
Infopass appointment on Aug. 16th: Both petitions with an officer since Aug. 12th.
I appreciate the forum and all the support it offers. Donated last month.
